A letter of the engineer in chief of the Mines of Mans informs the Prefect of Morbihan of the following facts on January 17, 1851.
Illicit a tin Ore exploitation takes place by two English in the commune of Penestin and it would be necessary that Mister the Prefect causes continuations against the contraveners.
A letter of the Mayor of Penestin is sent to the Prefect on December 24, 1851 to intercede in favour of the two workmen. Mister the Mayor of Penestin sends this day a plan of the coast which it extracted from the chart of Mr. Beautemps Beaupré following the request from Jean Jeffrai, Joseph and William Wellington which wishes to obtain an authorization to wash stanniferous sands which are in various places of the coast of Penestin. Mister the Mayor asks for Mister the Prefect of be so kind as to be interested in these workmen who are fathers of families and to give them as soon as possible the authorization which they ask.
